A participant’s experience
Lilia Glukha, a catechist from the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Edmonton, recently completed three years of study at the Catechetical-Pedagogical Institute of the Ukrainian Catholic University. She describes the experience as a time of personal formation, spiritual and intellectual growth, and meaningful encounter with a supportive academic and faith community.
During her studies, Lilia also began serving as a catechist at St. George Parish in Edmonton. She speaks with gratitude about the professors, the practical examples shared in class, and the opportunity to deepen her knowledge of God in order to serve children, families, and the wider Church.
Reflecting on her experience, Lilia encourages others to consider the program, especially those who feel called to catechetical ministry:
“This formation has profoundly enriched my life. It is an opportunity to deepen one’s faith and prepare to proclaim the Good News to children, youth, and all those whom God places along our path.”
The Eparchy warmly encourages catechists, parish leaders, teachers, and all interested faithful to take advantage of this opportunity for formation in English. This program can help participants grow in knowledge, confidence, and readiness to serve the Church and share the Gospel.
