The good people of Fort McMurray and area have recently been devastated by wildfires, a terrible tragedy. Some 80,000 residents have been evacuated and 1,600 homes and businesses lost. Emergency relief efforts are now under way to provide aid for the evacuees. We can help by donating to the Canadian Red Cross on their website (www.redcross.ca) or by phoning 1-800-418-1111 toll-free. The Government of Canada and the Government of Alberta have each pledged to match every dollar donated through the Red Cross. That means for every dollar you donate, $3 will go towards providing food, clothing, medicine and shelter for those most in need. In the spirit of Christian Charity, I invite you to give generously.
